Jamie Smith is DJ Champale.
Jamie came into the world in the fall of 1990 in San Joaquin County, California. Her early days were spent riding around in an Astro Van listening to golden oldies on the radio and falling into a lifelong love affair with Motown. In her teen years, she inherited (read: pilfered) her high school library’s tossed-out record collection and began her own vinyl collection. DJ Champale was born in Austin, Texas out of a friend’s need for a backyard party DJ.
DJ Champale has previously brought the boogie to Kitty Cohen’s, Firehouse Lounge, and Houndstooth Coffee in Austin, Texas, as well as a collection of private parties and one memorial service.
